fmil pissing me off

she has been progressivly getting on my nerves. when fh and i get into a fight she says mean things about me... like how i look- nothing in regards to our fight.
then the other night i was at a family party of fh's... he wasnt there though. i had just worked all day and she goes like 3 times- you look so tired- you really look terrible- this is the worst i have ever seen you look.

she is really started to piss me off.

she also like a month ago made a comment to fh about my daughter. he was having some custody issue with his own son and she goes 'i just want you to remember that Gwen (my daughter) is not your blood' ***!!! and btw he is adopting my daughter.

a-hole!

ughh! i feel your pain. i have a fmil just like that. except she calls me fat all the time. but now she cant since im pregnant..
i'd love to say things get better, but as we are nearing our wedding, it seems to be getting worse.. we will see how she acts when we are actually married..

fh knows. when he said the 'not your blood thing' he was like...'really mom' b.c after all he was adopted by her husband!!!???

when i told her what she said to me the other night he was just like 'she said that?'

his parents are very selfish. it just is what they are! im not too upset by it- i just have no desire to hang out with them!

ugh that stinks.. I have had little situations with FMIL also. no name calling but always has her nose in our business & always with an opinion for everythingggg! hope things get better for you though!

usually she is cool and i like hanging out with her. but as she has gotten more comfortable with me she is feeling free to say whatever inappropriate thing she wants

she also made a few digs about my mom... but they were subtle and if i said something i am sure it would look like i was being dramatic.

shes on my **** list.

Unfortunately, and ironically, weddings have a tendency to bring out the worst in people. Their nastiest, ugliest sides really have a way of making their presence known.

I'm studying to get my doctorate in Psychology, and here's the best bit of advice I can impart on you:

You can only have control over YOURSELF and YOUR reaction. Not hers. Not FH's. Not anyone elses.

Calm yourself down thru self talk by telling yourself that you are not going to let it get to you. It's your special day, don't allow anyone or anything to bring you down!

yesterday we book thatched for april 21 to save some money since ya know a lil earlier in the season.. i am having my ceremony outside unless (knock wood) its raining.. she keeps telling me (mentioned at least 5x) how cold it is going to be since 'its not the summer' so i said watch the ceremony from inside if you want.. she wasnt thrilled but i feel like she will be the main cause of me becomming anything close to a bridezilla! mind you i barely booked 24 hours ago and shes alreading putting her 2 cents in REPEATEDLY...

EVERYTHING gets worse nearer to the wedding!! I have neeeever done this to anyone, even at my most miserable time of life- Just zip the lip till the weddings over, for your OWN sake... then ... whateva.

I have all these problems plus many many more, i think my biggest pet peeve is when ppl say 'what if its cold'...............something inside of me short circuits. Now I literally never say anything about my wedding that invites any type of remark or opinion, which is really the way to go, just plan, with your close friends that agree with everything you do, and then when the wedding comes they will know everything lol.

ughh how rude. But my first issue with this is why does she know about your arguments with your FH? I mean somehow she is finding out and if it is by FH then he needs to correct himself. The less she knows the better. And it may just be me and FH but if and when we argue the only 2 ppl who know about it is us. just my opinion. I am so sorry you are going thru this though

SO TRUE. My FH used to do this and I STILLPAY!! They say things like, oh what are you gonna do, throw your cellphone across the living room? ETC!! Im like, see. stop telling your mommy everything
