FMIL problems....

Could you ladies please give me advice as to how to politely tell the FMIL to step off the wedding planning a bit?

I don't mind her being around for some of the planning, but she seems to have the whole thing mapped out in her head already (and we've only been engaged a few weeks)! How do I tell her that I appreciate her thoughts but it's my and my FH's wedding to plan?

Every time i read posts about FMIL, i feel so blessed that there is 7 hour flight between me and my FMIL.

one way you can tell is: I really like all your ideas but I want to wait a little while before I start planning.

I have been having big problems with my fmil... she even told my now fiancee that it was her right to pick out my engagement ring........and the hall we are getting married in. Mind you she lives in CA.... anyways basically fh told her to back off and things havent been so bad...

I am sooo jealous. My FMIL lives right in my apt complex. OUCH!! Talk about too close for comfort.

Thanks for the advice. Thank goodness the soon to be in-laws live 20 miles away, although sometimes it is still too close.
