FMIL question

FMIL question

My FMIL lives in CT. My FH and he are not that close out of impatientce from his part. It is his mother after all and I wasn't there while he was growing up. I guess he has is reasons and everyone has their own individual relationships with their families. Anyway......she is very sweet. We are not that close (only because of the distance between us and she is a bit shy and very timid) but I want to somehow involve her more, in our wedding. I don't want her to just show up. I want her to feel important. Any idea's?

Not sure when you plan on going up there, but you can ask if she found a dress yet, and that you would love to go with her to find one. Or if she has any favor ideas...does she have email? maybe you can email her your ideas that way she can give her opinion and she will feel more involved.
sorry if that didn't help

I agree. I think that would be really nice, to go dress shopping with her. and yeah, asking for her input on some details

Thank you.....yes it helped BUT, she already got a dress. She actually called my FH and told him. But no email address. I think I will just run some idea's by her. I was thinking maybe the day of the wedding......what can she do to feel helpful or needed?

If you are having unity candles you can have her and your mother (or someone special) light the two small candles. Then you and FH light the big one.

If you are having readings you can have her do a reading.

I love it! I'm having a ceremony so I don't know if I can have readings but if I can, will definitely ask her. Thats a really great idea.

Re: FMIL question

well mine took about 3 years to 'warm up' to me.. Fh is her baby.. and she had her own issues .. i would call her and stuff.. and she came with me and my family to pick out my dress for my engagement party and also for the wedding..

also, i ask her for her opinion and her FFIL's and take it into consideration..

good luck.. i think it is a very noble of you..
