she used to be like that in the beginning ... but FH and I put her in her place and just did things on our own.

Re: FMIL Question
I have the exact opposite...we've tried to involve FMIL in our planning and she seems wholly uninterested.
Although we'll see since now they want to pay for the RD how much of an opinion they want.
Does your FMIL have any daughters? If not, that might explain why she wants to be involved in so many aspects of your wedding.

Re: FMIL Question
yup. FH is the oldest and his sister is much younger, plus my mom lives in Canada so I think FMIL feels like she needs to be MOB here too. FH told me she feels like she doesnt know what her role really is so at the beginning she was reaaaaaaally pushing it but she is better now.

Re: FMIL Question
I actually want FMIL involved so we pretty much do everything together.

Re: FMIL Question
Since my FH is an only child, I invited FMIL along to BM dress shopping and both FILs to the food tasting to be nice, since this is the only wedding they're going to go through!

Re: FMIL Question
My FMIL is awesome, she totally doesnt care what we pick and never gets involved in our lives where she isnt welcome. LOVE HER TO PEICES. I was engaged before and that was soooo not the case, it made things very difficult.
