She has been getting on my last nerve. You would think I would know her by now since my FH and I have been together for 8 years. She said she wants to pay for the rehersal dinner and limos......that's great! I tell her there will be 26-29 people invited and she starts bitching she is not paying thousands of dollars on the dinner. She doesn't think she should pay for people dates. So I said then you won't be paying for your olders son's wife. She says of course I will. I was like ok so then I can't invite my sister's husband or my best friend's fiance! I told her forget it and I will pay for everyone and as soon as my FH walked in the room she was like oh don't worry I will pay. I just wanted to say but it fine that my mom pays a lot of money to invite your friends the the bridal shower but I didn't want to start. The dinner will not cost thousands but what does she think we are going to McDonalds and people are ordering from the dollar menu. It will probably per like 700-900. If anything I will just pay. sorry for the rant and thanks for listening.

Re: FMIL rant
OH MY GOD i went through the same thing. FMIL through a fit about the cost (40/pp).. She kept saying, why do we have to invite this person, why do we have to do that.. She didnt even want to do appetizers. I mean really, after all my family has done, the least she can do is not say a word about the rd... I guess it is just the in law thing.. It is awful, but dont worry hon, you are not alone. There are a lot of us out there.. Good luck..

Re: FMIL rant
FH and I rae going through a similar situation with FMIL. She wanted to pick where we would have it, which was not a very nice 'rehearsal dinner' place. We ended up booking with the place that we wanted but she was made that we didn't show it to her before her booked. Then she says she dosent want to spend a lot of money. As it turns out, FH and I are paying for it now.
You aren ot wrong to feel that way. I am sure lots of us are in the same, if not similar, boats. I think it s ucks that she turned her story around when your FH came into the room. That is very sneaky!
