FMIL Rant-Need Opinions!

My FIL's gave use 3 hours notice for my FBIL's birthday party (which for some reaosn is at their house) Why isn't his birthday at his own home? Or why isn't his wife doing something? The reason I am pset is b/c for my birthday my FIL didn't even so much as call me. and then they gave me a coffepot for my b-day.

If this sounds ridiculous, please let me know! I feel like I am the FDIL who gets no courtesy or considertaion and their SIL is the biggest loser and they him.

Opinions and encouragement needed!

My fiance doesn't understand why I am upset? How do I make him understand? (I have told him countless times that his parents see me as nothign and treat me as such) How can I make this more clear?

I finally have composed myself over this!

just read this--and i'm not trying to be mean-- i swear. but why are you so mad that your FIL's made a party for their son, but only gave you a coffee pot? I mean, that's THEIR son, they are gonna make a big deal out of his b-day. perhaps in their eyes, since you aren't married yet, it's not yet their responsiblity to make a big deal out of your day.

i think there's a chance you are over-reacting. of course i'm just going by your post only. i don't know the back story. only you know whether or not your FIL's like you or not--perhaps there is something else there that is causing them to act that way?

sorry you're feeling bad--but every family is different. sometimes ya just gotta be happy that you have a great guy, and hope the rest falls in place...and if it doesn't---you still have each other

It sounds like your frustation stems from incidents with FILs where you feel they disrespected you, however I don't want to make assumptions. I don't see the problem with parents having a party for their son, but they could have called you much sooner to tell you rather than assuming you'd drop everything with just a few hours notice.
