FMIL (vent)

i love my F'ILs to death..they are great people...just a little too buttinsky shall i say....if you knwo what i mean....has to know everything and asks a gabzillion questions about whatever we do
well i found a dress i LOVEd a few weeks back with my FSIL..and i took my mom back that night to see it, adn a few days later, i took my FMIL..well since ALL i hear is did you call here, did you look there, when are you doign this,,,did yo check out that..she si OBSESSED with me buying this dress NOW!..hello my wedding is NOV 05!
so i keep telling her i want to check out other dresses...and i (idiot me) invited her with my mom adn grandma to go look this past sunday......i foufn another one i loved...every freakin second she is asking if i called around to see who has it cheapest did i look at the other dress i loved at the other store again.....did i go on the websites.....if she isnt HARASSING me to all end about these two dresses i like, then shes sleeping..cause if she speaks to anyone, its about why i am taking so long to do this and that....i jsut want to enjoy dress shopping..i dont plan on doing it again..and she is making it miserabel for me,,,and i keep telling her jsut that..i want to enjoy this, and she keeps telling me mydress will be goine, ill never find anything..literally she does NOT stop talking about this..the whole family is losing it......help!

Tell her you put down a small refundable deposit on each dress. This way if it is going to be discontinued the store will call you. Really, you could actually do this if you have any concerns about your dress being there.

oh goodness!!! my sympathy!! I totally understand what you are saying... my fmil was the OPPOSITE. When I tried to do things a few months ago she would laugh at me and tell me im crazy to do everything so early .. blah blah blah... fast foward 3 MONTHS and shes like ohmigod you have to hurry up!! your running out of time! when are you gunna do this and when are you gunna do that!!

I think you need to rethink inviting her again. Just enjoy yourself with your mom and grandma. You've found 2 dresses that you really like, you may find 4 more before you make a final decision. I think you should leave her out of it until you find THE ONE and then she can come with you to put your money down. Yes, dresses can be discontinued, but I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. If a dress you like is discontinued, then I would bet that you would find an even better one. Don't let her ruin this time for you.

No need to invite her!! I know it's nice & all. But, I would have never taken my MIL (she lives overseas so I didn't even have to) The ONLY reason my MIL even saw a photo of me in my dress before the wedding was because she wasn't doing well & we didn't think she was going to be alive by the time we got married. (Happy to say she is alive & well still)
