FMIL vent...

she has the NERVE to invite her brothers neighbor who my FH and I don't even know when she's not even putting a dime into this wedding and has complained that traditionally the grooms parents are supposed to pay for the rehearsal dinner!

Ok, how can I make you feel better? Um yes, my DH's dad (yes, let's call him FIL) FOUGHT and KICKED and SCREAMED because all 5 of his brothers (plus wifes) had to be invited...normally, you say 'yes Sasha, of course, they're your DH's uncles'...yes, but 3 of them were out of the country and we knew weren't going to come...we invited them nonetheless...were told would be coming 'wouldn't miss it'...hmmm we had 11 no shoes, 8 of them, 8! were his uncles!

Let her have it, it's a small battle...and that day you won't care (trust me) we had 4 wedding crashers (people that we didn't know but came in the place of family members who couldn't make it! ) and I was sooo happy to see them! You'll be so happy that you'll kiss the neighbor and thank him for coming...let her (your FMIL) show off!

OK, I realized this is way long and should have been an FM...sorry hun, you know I'm sooo long winded.

I can't believe that, thats horrible. I'm sure the last thing that is going to annoy me is people I don't know being there just like you said.

It just really frustrates me that when it comes to money for her son's wedding she is so quick to keep her mouth shut but when it comes to the wedding itself and the planning she is SO quick to put her two sense in and tell me how it should be....it's just really annoying but I'm not going to let it get to me....I'll my FH deal with it being she is his mom.

Totally know where you are coming from. We are paying for everything ourselves. Everything. My grandmother (who I lived with for many years) does not seem to understand the concept of small immediate family and friends (60 people). First she was on and on about the 'Jersey cousins'. Second and third cousins I have met once or twice. But the best was when she asked me if I invited Mr & Mrs V, their really good friends from square dancing! Ahhhhhh!!!
