FMIL Vent (a bit long)
My FMIL offered to do the caligraphy on the outer envelopes for our invitations which I thought was really sweet since it is really a lot of work.
Fast forward, I gave the envelopes to my FMIL a month and 1/2 before I need them back which is by next Saturday. About 1/2 way through from the time I gave them to her, I asked how it was going and that I hoped it wasn't too much for her and she said no, it's fine. This past Saturday, FH randomly asked here how it was going and she says, 'Oh, I'm going to start them this weekend'. Ummmmm, WHAT? There are 120 envelopes and caligraphy takes a lot of time and energy. I calmly stared down at the table and did not say a word (I was flipping out on the inside).
I told FH he needed to speak to his mom and reminder her that we need them by Saturday.
She says that because of her herniated disc and cause she's been busy with FH sisters baby's Christening, she hasn't been able to start. I understand about the herniated disc but when I gave her the envelopes I took into consideration the Christening so that she would have time to focus on the env. too. This is not the 1st time she's done this and she's now making excuses. I just think it's really irresponsible. I wish she would have told us sooner and I could of had this taken care of already.
