FMIL wants to wear...

a FUSCIA dress to the wedding! Please tell me if I'm over reacting to the fact that she is going to be sooo bright and stand out more than me!

I understand! I am telling all my mom's what colors to wear.... I also want them to fit into my color scheme. So I don't think it is crazy to give a little suggestion. after all it is your wedding!

I agree with you, but the question is how do you tell her without hurting her feelings. You can always tell her that the color she wants to wear really doesn't go with your bridal party dress and then suggest one or two colors that she might want to wear.

I say let her wear whatever color she wants. YOU are the bride, believe me you will stand out. IMO its not worth it to try and dictate what colors your FMIL should wear.

That is a heck of a color to pick . . . my goodness. My FMIL is wearing deep green, which is fine by me. I did not actually set any guidelines for the moms, but they did ask for my opinion. Fuscia, interesting choice

I totally understand how you feel, but to be honest with you she is going to stand out but not in such a good way! People are going to be looking at her like she is stuck in the 80's!

wow, what a color. both mom's asked me my opinion and I was ok with both. my mom wore brown and MIL wore navy. if you have a problem with it then try to say something to her or maybe your FH can say something. GL!

You are the bride. People may think she is rude and an attention stealer but the attention will still be on you.

My mother wore bright red to my cousin's wedding back in the day. I was a teen back then and didn't think anything of it.

Still, no one looked at my mom for long. My cousin looked awesome in her dress, it was her day, etc.

I think be really honest. Ask her why she needs to wear such an attention grabbing dress. Maybe she has a good reason or will then realize it's not about her looking good.

Yes, totally bright, I agree....but...it is the summer, so bright colors are ok and you will look so gorgeous that no matter what, she will not shine brighter than you!

I think she would be flattered it you mention you want the moms to blend with the BP, you can suggest a color that way.

My FMIL asked what colors I'd prefer.....

but she loves purple and I had to make it known that anything would be okay BUT purple. So I indirectly said something to my FSIL's who will be shopping with her and guiding her away from the one color I didn't want her to get. They laughed when I told them -- and it wasn't an issue then.

yes fuschia is BRIGHT like anything- but look at it this way shes not wearing Ivory or White ...

and p.s- you will probably look so gorgeous ...your the BRIDE OFCOURSE

no one will be searching to look at or get a glimpse of FMIL ...all eyes will be on you

so you can nicely suggest a more subtle color, but leave it up to her...
