Well FMIL bought her dress. Its freaking white. What do I do. People are teling her she can't wear it but she is saying she is going to add some sort of sheer overlay thing to it. Its still white. FH called and told her it was white when he saw the picture. FMIL said just wait I am not done with the outfit.
What do i do girls??? TIA

OMG! Why would she think white was appropriate? She's not the bride!
You or your FH should really tell her how you feel. It is an unspoken rule that no one, especially the MOG, should wear white!! So sorry!

FH told her that only the bride wears white. FSIL sent me a pic asking me about it and it looks like a freaking white slip. FMIL keeps saying that she is not done with the outfit. I have only met FMIL four times in my life. She is all the way in Hawaii. FSIL called FH to tell him about it and how people are saying not to wear white. But apparently shes going to wear some thing over it to add; some to it. Its still white! I am really not having a traditional wedding but I am sorry this is a definite thing i have a problem with. GRRRR

FH claims that his family is like a bunch of girls with DIC@s and that they didn't know. He claims that its different in hawaii. But still, if people are telling her its a no no you think she would get the idea.

I would politely tell her that is a big NO. Just tell her that people will notice iand most likely bring about a few raised eyebrows and some comments about her dress she probably won't like. If you take the situation and turn it to that she probably won't want to wear it

Every person at your wedding will know it's a huge faux pas to wear white. If they even notice that she's in it...she'll look the fool not you. You are the bride and NO ONE can possibly upstage you. Even if they intentionally try...they'll just be laughed at. This one sounds pretty harmless. I'd listen to FMIL and wait and see what it will look like when she's finished creating it. Don't worry about it though.....either she looks like an idiot or she doesn't...it really won't be a reflection or comparison to you...

Thank you. I am really bad at confrontation and No i don't think shes trying to be a PIA on purpose. I hate the idea of having to call her and tell her not to wear it. I think I will just see what happens.
