Our e-party is right around the corner - RSVP date was this past Saturday.
My immediate family didn't 'RSVP' which was to call FH's house - they are hosting. I know they are coming so they didn't have to.
I have 2 male cousins who are 33 and 35. Both single and just date here and there - they were NOT invited w/ guests. Why?? B/c I didnt feel it was appropriate - this is a close family and friends thing and to be honest, i have no idea who they are going to bring! I don't feel its needed to have some random chicks there I don't know.
Anyway - my uncle, their dad - calls my grandma and asks HER if they can come with dates. UMM first off - they didn't RSVP technically (i know i said thats ok but really you should do it anyway), second - my family isn't hosting so HOW DARE you ask that, third - why couldn't you call my house and ask me that question??
I'm so f'n annoyed right now!!!!! It's just really f'n ballsy to ask such a thing - why do they need a date?!?!

Re: F'n Vent about Family and RSVPing
sorry, that is kind of irritating .... can you have your mom or dad speak with your uncle about it and convince him that it's inappropriate since your FH's family is hosting ...?

UGH!! That's annoying-you attend by the way you were invited-they're not in relationships; why bring dates?? Esepcially since it's not like the dates are Free-you have to pay or them!
So sorry!

Re: F'n Vent about Family and RSVPing
People have no idea how expensive all of this can be. My cousin is getting married next month. He sent an invite for his cousins for 6 people. They sent him back the rsvp with the 6 crossed off and they filled in 12. lol. My cousin said ***....12 people???? Not at 150 dollars a head they don't lol. Apparently, they wanted to bring their boyfriends, girlfriends, and their boyfriends and girlfriends friends. lol

Re: F'n Vent about Family and RSVPing
I am all about your vent right now. My RSVP date was also last Saturday. We're having it at a restaurant so we need a final count. We provided a phone number AND email, its not hard to communicate yes or no. One couple we invited told a friend in conversation, that they weren't coming to our party. Thanks for the heads up, guys. I know the world doesnt revolve around this party, but manners would be nice. Then I had other people ask if they could bring extra people. I would never in a million years ask if I could bring people who were not specifically listed on the invite. But maybe that's just me.

that's so annoying. It's true what someone said, people really just don't understand how expensive events like this can be and they don't care because the are not the ones paying for it.
Sorry you are going through this

Re: F'n Vent about Family and RSVPing
grrr--- i feel ya! MY rsvp date to e-party is this sunday. SO far like 8 people out of 90 rsvp. One part of my family I understand b/c my aunt is sick. But no one else did. Also FBIL just started hanging out with this girl and wants to bring her. At the time of the party they would have been hangingout/talking a month. WE are already hoping people RSVP no b/c we sent out extra invites. Now if he wants to bring her what do I say. I feel like i cant say no b/c he might want them to meet his parents which are coming from fla!!! GRRR i can't imagine what the wedding will be like
