I guess so... the only thing I'd think of it to mix the flour into the cream to dissolve.. otherwise it could be lumpy. I'm making it for dinner tonight so I'll let you know how it comes out!

Are you sure they don't put any onion or garlic into their creamed spinach for flavor?? That seems kinda bland to me.

Have you ever had it before? It's not overly flavored, just VERRRRY creamy. I found this exact recipe on several different websites, so I assume it's authentic. I'll be making it in an hour or so!
Here's the rest of the directions...
Cook the spinach following the directions on the package. Drain and squeeze all the liquid from the spinach when it's done.
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Be careful not to burn. Add the flour to the melted butter and stir until smooth. Add the cream and heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Stir constantly so the sauce does not burn.
Add the spinach, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cayenne. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes stitirring often. Serve hot

Claud if you like you can always add extras to your liking. I usually play around with recipes like that.
Lunatrek...I am glad you enjoyed it. I need to make this one day. Thanks for sharing!
