before we can take pre cana in our church, FH and I have to take FOCCUS - i think it's like a questionaire that we each fill out seperately and if there are any issues, we will talk about it in pre cana...am i right? has anyone else done this?

Everyone has to take it. It's a lot (like 100 I think) of statements and you have to answer agree, disagree or undecided. They touch on all different topics. It's supposed to show areas that you and FH need to discuss. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, FI & I had to do it also. We just took the questionnaire last week. The way my church does it - is that we meet with either the deacon that's marrying us OR the people who run the pre-cana to discuss the results. But I was under the impression that you meet with them by yourselves, not in a group, for this part of it. It's not bad at all - it went very quickly. Good luck!

I did not have to do this. FI and I met with my Pastor and he asked us a few questions but basically answered them himself for us. I think we were with him that day for like 10 minutes.

I didnt have to do this either - I think it depends on the church. We just met with the Priet a few minutes and that was it.

I was told that I didnt' have to do it because I went to PreCana...
(but, at PreCana, they said we had to do it. I told the Pastor what they said at PreCana and he still said that I didn't have to take it)

from what our church told us FOCCUS is a fairly new thing.. not all churches are participating in it yet, although ours is...
when you first go to the church they ask you a couple of questions, then if your church requires it you sign up to take the FOCCUS test, then sign up for precana...

i just did this on tuesday..it's a 140 statements. goes fast and we have to discuss it alone. Our deacon looks it over but we dont talk about it with him.

It really isn't a big deal, we finished our Pre-Cana
back in November. I really didn't want it to end

We did ours a few weeks ago. The priest is supposed to call us back and discuss it with us. I think it was actually kind of helpful in a way, it raised a few questions that we hadn't discussed like whether we are going to have joint checking or not. It's a kind of like a pre-marital counciling test. There is a special section to fill out if you live together so you may discuss whether or not you want the preist to know this before hand if you do live together.

We had to do this. We took the questionaire and then the following week we had to go to one of the couples houses to discuss our answers. It wasn't that bad....
