FOCCUS!

I just found out literally 2 mins ago that my FOCCUS test is on Saturday morning! please girls any help from those of you who have taken it already...i feel like such a loser...who stresses about this...i prob shouldn't but i am, its not even in my church : ( since we are down south in ATL we have to complete pre cana down here!

I haven't taken it yet but anything having to do with the church always makes me nervous! I'm always worried I'm going to say the wrong thing! Good Luck!

i wouldn't worry about it...it is just used as discussion points for your pre-cana to get you both on the same page if need be.

it was 180 questions (at least ours was b/c we live together)
it is nto a test more like a survery.
The 'question' woudl be a statement and the answer would be I agree, I disagree or Uncertain.
It asked questions about faith values, sex, family, relationship with fh, etc. It wasn't bad at all!!! we did the 'test' online on Tuesday night and it took about 30-40 minutes. We have to go to a church in 2 weeks to go over the answers. Just answer honestly. not bad at all, even FH said it was painless. Actually halfway through we took a shot to celebrate being half done...hehe!

i took it last time i planned a wedding. I was stressing just like you but dont worry its just question about friends family and money, children and marriage you take one and fh takes one and they have some computer program and it rate how you two answered it so you know to discuss before marriage it really doesnt mean anything then you go over the same stuff at precana

There is nothing to worry about. i was freaking out about it but it turned out to be nothing. Just be honest. It can't stop you from getting married. So relax!

dont worry doll. I actually laughed the whole way through !
i knew exactly which questions fh and i would answer differently..

i will warn you.. they do ask if 'you think sex is gods way of showing he loves you'
that question totally creeped me out !

It always questions, in-laws, communication, children, future, finances, etc.. nothing you have to worry about or 'study' for.

You will do fine my dear !! I started pre cana last week and its actually fun

Its not bad at all, so try not to stress! Just make sure when you answer the questions you don't put uncertain because if you do, when the results come in, that question comes up. We only had to discuss the questions we didn't agree on. The couple that talked with us about our results were amazed by how much we knew each other. Most of the categories we scored 100 % and were out of there in 20 minutes. (Weeks after we took the test, we met with a couple to discuss the results.)
Of course, if you answer questions that are against the religion, those questions come up as well, even if you and your FH both agree on those questions!

Its a piece of cake and nothing to worry about. We breezed through it and now all we have to worry about is three sessions of Pre Cana and then were done with it all!

Ooo not all the questions were dumb! LOL!

I think it was a really helpful exercise for us because there were at least 2 questions (out of the 156ish we had to take) that we didn't discuss and one actually turned into an 'issue' that we needed to solve before getting married..

All in all it's a helpful exercise to see the areas which you two might disagree/agree on and then discuss them. Nothing stressful though, you will be just fine!

p.s. there was totally a couple in our session that had a Jerry Springer moment. But they worked it out

ok-- are you girls doing pre cana through diocese of rVC????--- i looked on the website and it said the fee is 300 bucks-- which it is what it is but my friend is paying significantly less by doing it through her church-- is this true??? are there other girls that are doing this?
