Re: FOCUS...
I am going next Saturday. I would answer the questions truthfully, it is not a test it is just a learning experience and hopefully you and FH can get something out of it. Good luck! dont be nervous!!!!

It's not bad at all!! Everyone gets so stressed over this for no reason! Exactly as previous post states, it's a learning experience. It's to make sure you and your fiance have talked about matters that often lead people to get divorced.

dont stress it AT ALL! its no biggie.. they will 'grade' it and tell you what aspects of your relationship that you need to work on. its all stuff you know already

Re: FOCUS...
We had to do that. It is a test that has no right or wrong answers. You can only answer agree or disagree. There is so many questions that ask about finances, relationships with friends, religion, and etc. Sfter you are done, they call you a few weeks after and go over where they think you and your FH should work on in your relationship. The scores come out in percentages of AGREEMENT...Are you on the same level in children issues, finances.... It is nothing to stress about, I actually thought it was something really important before marriage because you learn more about eachother that you thought you knew already....

Re: FOCUS...
I took my FOCUS test 2 Sundays ago and it was great!! DONT worry it was really good.. There are no wrong and right answers.. Its your feelings on different subjects.. And DONT answer the questions the way you think your FH will.. That will totally through you off.. My FH and I got a 96%, was failed the sex questions.. LOL!!

It's SO easy - don't worry about it. Even if you do bad they are not going to tell you that you can't get married

Re: FOCUS...
Don't want to sound stupid, but what is a FOCUS test and where can I sign up for one? FH and I are doing the Pre-Cana next weekend but is this something in addition to the pre-cana or do they give this FOCUS test during it? Thanks!

We were contacted by our Church we actually didnt have a choice. It is seperate from precana or at least it was for us. I'm sure if you called your church they could help.

Focus is just a ton of questions about you and your fh that you can agree or disagree to. Not every parish requires it. Ours did. Contact your church and see if they require it. If they don't but you still want to do it contact another parish to schedule one.

Re: FOCUS...
We were supposed to do our FOCCUS test but then our Priest said we didn't have to.
But that was that- we never did.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

This was taken from the FOCCUS website:
FOCCUS is a 156-item instrument (with an additional 33 optional items for interfaith couples, cohabiting couples and couples in which one or both partners are remarrying)
