Is anyone using these for their first dance? I called my hall today to see if they allowed it due to most halls not allowing it. However they told me they were not a big fan of it because it gets the floor all yucky and slippery. They stated it depends on if you get a good machine which you will not know until you use it. I really wanted this but I think I may have to reconsider. I don't want to fall or be on a yucky floor.
I didn't think they used fog machines anymore. Here is a suggestion and I don't know if you can do this either but how about dry ice?

Re: Fog machines
We would like to use them. I haven't hears about halls not allowing it but I guess I will find out. Thanks for the heads up!

It's true most halls don't allow it. My hall doesn't.

Re: Fog machines
My friend used Dry Ice at her wedding...it was beautiful and with that, the second the DJ closes the 'dry ice machine' it disappears immediately.

Re: Fog machines
Many halls do not allow these because fog machines could possibly set off the fire alarms as well as causing liability issues (damp floors, people fall, etc. etc.)

Right that is what I was told but I wonder about the dry ice.

Re: Fog machines
I was at a sweet 16 where there was a fog machine and my dress smelled disgusting when I got home, and I was on the dance floor not directly in front of it. I think dry ice is a better option.

Re: Fog machines
My hall specifically states so fog machines.
I also worry about my dress getting wet at the hem. I was in a play once with a fog machine and all our feet got damp.

Re: Fog machines
My DJ is using fog machines, but I know that some RH's do not allow them b/c the tend to blow circuits real easy.

Re: Fog machines
We're using dry ice for our first dance. It was included in our awesome DJ package. Jericho Terrace allows it! I guess it depends on the floor; my floor is all marble.
