Are you guys having parent's significiant others walk down your aisle. The issue is, my FH's mom passed away a some years ago and his father remarried last year. We don't really want his new wife to walk down our aisle. It's not like she has played any significant role in my FH life. Maybe the situation would be different if she was present during his childhood or something...But at the end of the day he doesn't want her to be a part of the procession. How should we tell them? We were thinking of saying parent's only - is that terribly rude? I don't want to offend anyone but it's our wedding....Any suggestions?

I'm kind of in the same boat. My mom passed away some years ago too and my father isn't remarried but has been with this woman for nearly 9 years now. I am not going to include her in the ceremony in any way but I have decided I will get her a courtesy corsage (nothing as elaborate as my fmil's) and have her announced entering the recepetion with my father as 'escorted by'. This way he can walk in with her, she doesn't feel completely left out but I'm not acknowledging her as anything really significant in my life.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have the same exact problem except FH mom is alive and the boyfriend is the man she had affair with right before the dad died. We are thinking about just letting him walk because we don't want to hurt her feelings but we aren't sure. Were weren't sure who would escort her down if not him and if she is alone its going to raise eyebrows so its awkward!!! I feel your pain!!

When it comes down to it, it's your wedding. Do what makes you and FH comfortable and happy.

My FH has a similar issue. He and his dad aren't very close and his stepmother has never been nice to him and his brother growing up. He doesn't want his dad in the processional at all, and DEFINITELY doesn't want her in it. I think he'll walk his mom down the aisle before anyone else, and then she will sit while he stands at the alter waiting for us. That way he doesn't have to have his dad or stepmother in it at all.
Your groom has to make the decision on this one...i can understand his sentiments about not wanting the wife to walk down the aisle with him...maybe if either of his grandmothers are still alive, his dad can be escorted by one of them or both. That would keep it in the immediate family and would probably not cause any waves.
