OK so how do you tell your guests that rooms have been blocked at a certain hotel without them assuming that you're paying for it? I have to be specific with some family members so they dont have the 'if its free its for me' mentality. Do you enclose this info with the invites?

Re: Follow up from my 1st dumb question lol
I have alot of OOT guests and I sent an email to most of them bc I know most of them are already looking for flights so I wanted them to know how much the hotel will be so they can figure that into their travel budget.
I was going to send the info w my STD but that never happend. I will be sending the info in my invites

most of the cards the places give you have a line where you fill in the price, that would hopfully be a good hint

Re: Follow up from my 1st dumb question lol
I let close friends and family know where the block was and said 'and it's $139 a night....'
I will also be putting the info on my STDs (which I haven't done yet) and I will be putting the cards the hotel gave me in with my invitations.

I emailed the bridal party about this info but the actual inserts go in the invites, no one should assume that you're paying for the hotel rooms, if you want to say something like rooms have been reserved but no one will be charged until check out or someting like that just to let them know it's their responsibility, you could do that!

I just wrote on a card that went with my STD's, 'A block of rooms has been reserved... blah blah blah....please book early blah blah.'
They better not assume I'm paying, lol. I'm sure they'll find out when they call to book.

We wrote on our save the dates (and on our invites) 'A block of rooms have been set aside at the XXXXXXX. Please mention the 'OUR NAMES' wedding to secure the discounted rate.'

Re: Follow up from my 1st dumb question lol
My mom wrote this on our STDs:
The Hyatt Regency, Hauppauge, NY is now accepting a limited number of reservations for the ______/________ wedding at a reduced rate.
On our wedding website I listed the price.

I am printing a little note card and putting it in the invitation letting them know there is a room block and what the rate is. If you want I can FM you the card wording when i get home tonight
