FOLLOW-UP POLL to JILMADISON'S POST

FOLLOW-UP POLL to JILMADISON'S POST

Past brides, as a gift giver (who has a wedding coming up at a VERY costly venue), just wondering if the avg. person gives more if the venue is more expensive (well, more expensive than the majority of wedding venues I've been to.)
Poll is average gift per person - perhaps leaving out the extremely generous gifts from parents, etc.

I selected the bracket that goes up to $99 only because you said to factor our parents and extremely generous gifts. If they are factored in, the 'average' would skyrocket, though.

I know when I go to a wedding, I don't base my gift on the location but rather on my relationship with the couple...

My gift is based on the relationship...It has nothing to do with the venue.

ditto

I replyed with the extreme gifts as 150-199 but even without the couple of extreme ones our average cash gift was 133.

We had extremely generous guests, but on average DH and I give 200-300 depending upon the person getting married and our relationship with them. Our gift has nothing to do with the venue.

Although, now that we are married, and we have received gifts from people who are getting married that came to our wedding we will be giving them back what they gave us. Except for one couple who we were just so happy that they could make the long distance trip. For them we will give more than they gave us.
