follow up to 'need halp cancelling a vendor'

I need some

Financially, our 'big party' just isn't realistic. I hate that it's come down to the last 30 days, but we have decided to cancel our hall and go w/ a party after the church at our best mans house.
I know this is the best thing, money wise, for us to do. We don't wanna start out with some huge debt first thing in our marriage.
The RD will still be done, and the ceremony of course. But I am still trying to convince myself it will still be a 'real wedding' even if it is in a back yard! I just always thought things would work out, but it just isn't. Please tell me I'm still a 'real bride'! I just can't get it out of my head that weddings are supposed to be big. I know in the end, it's only about my FH and I, and that's really the only thing that's helping me get by right now.
Ok, just needed to vent and get some hugs

Thanks for listening.

TRUST ME as someone who has already gone through it, it DOES NOT matter where the party is or how its done - at the end of the day you are married to the love of your life either way.

you are still a real bride!! and i think you're mkaing the best decision... the biggest cause of marriage problems is money problems... so you're definitely starting off right by doing what it takes to try to avoid them.
weddings have gotten out of hand.... a lot of people loose sight that the day really is just about you and the person you love getting married and promising to be together forever.
so... i'm sorry you're going through this... but its for the best... you can always have the 'big party' for one of your anniversaries when you're more financially stable.... good luck!! and enjoy your day!!

AWWW ofcourse you are a Real Bride. It doesnt matter where the party is, Its about everyone being together to celebrate you and FH becoming one!!!! It will be beautiful!!

ETA: Think of the good points, Your wedding can last all night, theres no rushing and time limits with a hall. You have more time to enjoy your day. My wedding went so fast i dont even remember most of it. It felt rushed. honestly if i could do it over i would rather pick a back yard wedding so i could enjoy the day for so much longer.

Girl listen, Even if you got married in your living room with just u your FH and the minister, you would still be a Real Bride. All this party stuff is minor. You can celebrate however you want. I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful. I always loved intimate backyard receptions. Its more of a family affair.

Fh and I were JUSt saying the same thing.......we are still going to do Giorgios but as we get closer i feel like we are getting further away from being able to pay...so we think of alternatives......
we rented a VFW hall in Patchogue. for our e-party and my mom TOTALLY decorated it all up.....it was AWESOME!!! thats what we say we should have done again sometimes
