FOOD at giorgio's? flowerfield?

FOOD at giorgio's? flowerfield?

so after all of our searching we have narrowed our RH down to one of these two places, and the decision right now is KILLING us... one of the big deciding factors is definitely the food. we know a few people who have been to the flowerfield and said the food is EXCELLENT, but we don't have any similar first-hand reviews of giorgio's... has anyone been there? how is the food? we are kind of foodies and don't really like 'wedding food', haha.

i want to decide soon and book the wedding. i am really paranoid that the dates i want are going to get booked up. if anyone has any experience with either venue that would help me decide, please share!

thanks all. :)

I see you're getting married on 9/24/11... that's my date - I'm at Giorgio's. SO I can tell you that date is booked LOL

Don't really know much about Flowerfields, and I'm obviously partial to Giorgio's, but I have to say that i LOVE Giorgio's and every time I tell someone I'm having my wedding there (vendors, friends, etc.) they can't stop talking about how great it is there... from the food, to the service, to the management. I get nothing but great reviews...

I've also been there (went to the bridal showcase, had my tasting and went to brunch there) and the food was AMAZING. And that's the first thing people say to me about the place. I would suggest going to Sunday brunch there and trying out the food before you do anything else.

Also, if you want next September you may have to be flexible about day of the week. We booked in early June and we were the last Saturday left in September. HTH!!!!

You are getting married on my bday. Good choice, lol. I can only speak for Giorgios. I recently went to a wedding, and the food was absolutely amazing. There was nothing i didn't like. I left the wedding like 5 lbs heavier.

FH and I went to our friend's wedding at Flowerfield, and the food was what made him want to get married there. (That's all he really cares about...and the service of course- which was amazing as well.)

Everything I tasted there was the best version of it I had in my life- whether it was the champagne, steak, whatever...the cocktail hour is amazing, of course... and I'm not a red meat eater, but I tried FH's filet mignon, and it was PERFECT. We are very excited for our upcoming tasting.

I would ask people you know who have been to weddings at those places (if you do know people). I don't think either will disappoint...I'm not sure if I know anyone who has been to both. Flowerfield has had the best food out of any wedding we've been to so far though.

Food tasting on oct 28th at giorgios. They say their food is more restaurant...than catering. Also they are coming out with a new menu to accomodate the foodies....

I guess everyone is different ... I went to Flowerfields and wasnt amazed by their food. Perhaps it was an off day but it left something to be desired. The cocktail hour we felt was like a mish mosh of stuff.

Giorgios I have heard excellent things about. Can you see if you can do a tasting at both?

I have not heard anything about flowerfield, good or bad, so I can't really speak to it. I know my HS used to do the prom there, but when we had ours a few years back it was Giorgios! ha, thats mainly the reason we even went to look there for our RH.

I actually booked Giorgio's without trying the food... They don't do individual tastings but have like monthly tasting nights, and since I'm out of the country I'm hoping to get there sometime so I can taste it myself, but its reputation was enough to make me comfortable to book without tasting it myself. My mom went to the showcase and was very happy.

I can't speak for Girogio's but FF is the same caterers as Land's End (Lovin Oven caterers) and the food is awesome. We got married there and many of our guests still tell us how great the food was at my wedding. Me and DH are foodies too and constantly pick apart our food so I hear your concerns. One thing we did to ensure that we were happy w/the food was book a couple of halls and had them put in our contracts that we could get 100% of our deposit back contingent upon the food tasting. You might want to try doing that if you're really unsure. Good luck :)

thanks all. i will definitely do a tasting at both, but i guess i'm getting a LITTLE anxious about booking. i don't know a lot about this wedding thing and i didn't realize how many dates would be booked up for next fall this early in advance!

mrs. joe- i'm assuming if you booked in june that you're getting married the NIGHT of the 24? i was just there yesterday and he said the day was open! but anyway, i won't worry TOO much about it... i'm pretty sure he tells EVERYONE that the days they are considering are the last days he has available. he said that to me too and i've seen it multiple times on this forum also. nice guy, but very much a salesman. ;) if all their dates were truly booked, that would make my decision much easier! i'm pretty flexible with my date though.

Never been to Georgio's. Flowerfields had great food, but I was not privy to the room where the cocktail hour would be because it smelled a little moldy. Probably because of all the waterfalls and faux carpet grass? Otherwise, it was a nice place.
