Dh and I are doing Atkins. I just cleaned out my kitchen cabinets, and have a HUGE box of rice, noodles, pasta, soups,etc. I'd hate for it all to go to waste. Where could I bring it? I don't know this area that well to find a local church. I'm in Patchogue.

Lisa there are several churches in Patchogue. I am not sure which ones take food donations though. You can look in your phone book for the telephone numbers, but you might want to try St. Francis deSales church first. The church is on South Ocean Avenue and the rectory is on Amity St. There is also Emmanual Lutheran Church on East Main St., United Methodist Church on South Ocean Avenue, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Rider Ave. I know there also used to be a Lighthouse Mission Soup Kitchen in Patchogue, but I don't know if it's still there. I think it's terrific for you to do this.
Oh the Patchogue Firehouse is on Jennings Avenue. If you need directions to any of the above I can help you. I don't live in Patchogue anymore but I grew up there and lived there all of my life until a few years ago.
