I have already eaten the food at our hall (well, at their sister hall anyways)....
My FIL's have not..... Is it weird to call them now to do a food tasting so close to the wedding?? And way after we booked??

Usually the food tasting is a few months before the wedding itself ... so i don't think it's weird at all

we went for our tasting a few weeks ago - I don't think its weird at all! I thought you were supposed to get a tasting so you could pick out your menu? maybe I am wrong??

i dunno if that's your real wedding date, but you have a ton of time to do a tasting and no it's not weird! you booked there, you can taste the food whenever you want!

I know with my hall we dont do a tasting till the month before, but i dont see the harm in asking

our tasting was after we booked.... its helped us decided on what we want our menu to be!!

I don't think it is weird at all!
We did a tasting with our parents after we were booked - and we are planning on doing another tasting before we pick the menu....

we booked the hall December 2008 for our April 2010 wedding.
we just did the food tasting December 2009.

lisa - when we made a payment last month we asked about picking the menu and cake tasting. the guy suggested calling and having a meeting with our BM. apparently the BM schedules all of this
i def want to do this soon. and they said usually its 6 weeks before, but if we wanted to do it now its no big deal.
not sure if picking the menu involves tasting the food...but i sure hope it does!!!
let me know what you find out and ill do likewise :)

We did our tasting in May for our July wedding -- same year. I don't think you're really in the 'so close' category yet. (or ever could be)
I'm sure your ILs would love to go with you to experience it!

they should be able to accomodate that, shouldnt be a problem. ure paying them a crap load of money soo..... they should do it!
