Food Tasting
What's everyone's opinion? Me and my FH live in Florida and I'm not allowed to take vacation January-April and my FH has limited vacation and I don't really want him to waste any days going to a food tasting! Since we already picked the venue do you really think it's necessary to waste vacation days and money going to a food tasting? I'd rather spend the time and money doing hair and make up trials, my bridal shower, bachelorette weekend, dress fittings and anything else that comes up between April-June that I have to fly home to Long Island for... food just doesn't seem worth it, it's not like I can change the chef if I don't like it! If any of y'all have been to the Riviera and have any reviews on the food please do share and be honest!!

Ok good it seems silly to spend $400 to try food at a venue I'm having my wedding at regardless lol

I didn't tip at the tasting. We're were supposed to do private tasting and I was sick so they had a group tasting that we went to. You are going to love it! I loved everything I ate!

We are booked with the Riviera and did not do a food tasting either. I'm not sure if we will bother doing one or not. If I were in your shoes I wouldn't fly in just for that. I have heard nothing but great reviews about the food. I'm not worried about that aspect at all.

Yeah I'm only doing it because I'm coming home for Christmas and they fit us in Saturday afternoon so we figured it'll just be something fun to do, otherwise I was going to save my money! I'm excited a free meal woohoo lol

Don't worry! I most likely wont do a cake tasting, I know we want red velvet so I am most likely just going with that.

We were going to do a cake tasting, but my FH was like 'Just pick a flavor' LOL. So we are just doing a cannoli cake.

When they give you a tasting..how does it work exactly? They just cook samples of a few things?

I had my tasting at Bellport and they had the 4 of us in a bridal suite and brought out samples of different food. They started off with cocktail hour food, then went into the appetizer and salad courses (just salad and a huge bowl of penne alla vodka), then they brought out small samples of the more popular dinner dishes people choose I guess), and then they brought out dessert (fruit, small pastries, etc.). I was so full!

Don't worry about the cake. I gave the bakery they used a picture of what I wanted and they did such an amazing job! The cake looked identical to the picture even the accents on the ribbon were done perfectly. I just did vanilla cake with half chocolate pudding filling ad half vanilla pudding filling and whipped cream icing. We didn't want to spice up the cake too much and spend more money since Riviera gives you so many desserts besides your cake.

That cake sounds amazing and I saw the picture of your cake and it was beautiful. So you just show them a picture? Did they tell you how many tiers? That's good to know
