Football....

is the worst. sport. ever.

I can only work out and write for so long on Sunday/Monday nights.

It's not like it's REAL football that the rest of the world plays, where I can watch impossibly hot men running up and down the field in their athletic deliciousness. It's six ton men in spandex, head gear and padding running two feet.

How does a 15 minute quarter take two years of my life?

And what the hell is a first down and why are there 20 of them per play?

well, I doubt you really want me to explain first downs for you. But I can totally get in on the action - dh is at the Met game right now.

but I have to disagree - basketball - worst. sport. ever.

back... and forth. and then back.... and forth. etc etc etc

I can tolerate the back and forth of basketball because it moves so quickly. But I like baseball and that is SLOW.

I may need you to explain the downs to me one day because DH has tried but my eyes glaze over the second he starts talking about it.

Mel, I feel you completely on it. The worst is when he watches some great play or some bad call and runs into my room to tell me all about it as if I have the faintest clue what the hell he is talking about.

Usually it's something like this:

DH: Honey, I can't believe that happened!! They just ran for the touchdown instead of a field goal and....
DW: Why are you telling me this when you know I don't care?
DH: But....the Giants.....
DW: Sweetie, I love you but I have no clue what you're talking about

He does the same thing with basketball, hockey & boxing, although he knows I can get into boxing.

My DH was there last night as well! But I was with him. It was a great game.

Now, if the Giants were playing there would have been no way in hell that DH would have gone to the game last night. I HATE American football. I don't understand it and all I know is that I lose my husband on Sundays and Mondays.

We should all GTG on a Sunday to drink and have fun while our husbands watch their games.

I have no interest in Football until baseball is over. DH puts the game on and I glaze over. I can't multi-task..one game at a time please!

We both like the Giants but DH does not make me a football widow.

We both like football, tho he more than me!! We're both Giants fans which is nice since during the baseball season we root for different teams!!!!

But it's all good, I know he loves me more than sports. I've gotten his attention away from the TV on more than 1 occaison!!

football season is always a sad time. i try to watch...but i don't 'get it' so i usually fall asleep or leave the room.
