For 2010 brides on when to get your dress....

Just thought I'd share some info incase it wasn't here already.

I went to David's Bridal last night to try on some dresses. I was told that your dress can take 12-18 months to come in since they have to order it... just something you girls might want to keep in mind

BTW They had some lovely dresses. I went in their with the plan to try on a few dresses to get an idea of what it is I am looking for so I picked out 3 dresses. When I put on dress #3 and looked in the mirror I realized 'This is the dress!'. My sister even said she had that feeling when she saw me in it, even people around us stopped what they were doing to look and I got so many compliments (not from people who worked there, other brides/shoppers). Needless to say I'm going back tomorrow and ordering it!
Not to mention they are having their big sale again this weekend.

I'm just praying they don't discontinue it! I have heard of it happening.. I just hope not to me. I would be heart broken if I couldn't get that dress. I do have a second one in mind that I saw, but I need my dream dress

I ordered my dress since its a well-known designer and the bridal shop said the same thing...depending on the designer it can take up to 18months to come in. Also, it depends where its made and what types of fabics they need. I remember her specifically saying Eve of Milady can take 18months.

congrats on ordering your dress. wow you are moving quickly with your wedding plans while i am just sitting, waiting for the plans to just fall into place.

Thats weird about the 12-18 months coming from DB's mouth b/c ive heard that lots of girls get the samples they have in the store.... and if they dont have it, they try to get it from another store instead of ordering you a brand spanking new one... I may be wrong, but this is what ive herad through the grapevine on here... i would double-check with them... I know I wouldnt be happy getting a gown thats been tried on a million times and still paying reg price for it

I really don't think they told you the truth. I was told the dresses took a few months at most and I've known many people who have gotten their dresses from DB and they usually came within 3 months if not sooner. DB is one of the faster bridal salons b/c they are a chain and have stores all over the country that they can get the dresses from in various sizes. Many bridal salons try to scare you by saying that it takes 12-18 months for a dress to come in b/c they want you to buy from them and not look around anymore.

I love how I went to David's this weekend and the lady looked at me and was like 'Wow you're really early...' Umm yea guess not...
