For all church brides...
How many readings are you having in your ceremony? My officiant gave me a list of bible readings to choose from, but I can't decide between three or four. What are your readings?
Thanks!

Re: For all church brides...
I had a Catholic Mass so there were two readings (1 old testament and 1 new testament), a responsorial psalm, Gospel, and prayer of the faithful that we had to pick out.

Re: For all church brides...
If you are having a mass you choose your 1st, 2nd and gospel readings. But you only can choose who reads the 1st and 2nd ones.

Re: For all church brides...
We have three readers. One Old Testament, one New Testament and the other will read the responsorial psalm.

Re: For all church brides...
We actually only had a new testament reading and the gospel. We couldn't seem to find an old testament reading we liked, so the priest (who was a friend) said not to worry about it, we could just use the 2, so that's what we did. We had our 2nd reader do the prayer of the faithful.

We had to do the same thing. We picked out the readings and the prayer of the faithful and had our Monsignor pick out the reponsorial psalm and the Gospel.

Re: For all church brides...
Thanks for your suggestions.I'm not having a catholic mass, but an protestant ceremony, so I don't think I'm going to have the regular responsorial psalm.
I know I will have a reading from one of the gospels, but I guess the pastor will read that one.
I don't know if I should have one or two more readings in addition to the gospel reading.
