for all of you that have quit smoking

How did you do it?? I am having such a hard time. I've tried everything and I always crack after a couple of days. What was the most helpful to you? I also work in a place where EVERYONE but 2 or 3 people smoke and it is so annoying. I need to quit before the wedding!

I smoked for about 10 years and I promised FH I would quit after taking the bar and before we get married - well in September I got a bad sinus infection and couldn't smoke for a few days - and simply decided to quit - basically I had tried to quit a number of times - but this time worked

Cold Turkey... after experiencing a very scry n=medical episode..... but I had been trying to quit for almost 2 years prior with no luck.

I recently quit because I got pregnant. I had to do it cold turkey, but it was MUCH easier than I thought. I was a smoker for almost 10 years. Obviously, my pregnancy makes it so much easier since it motivates me, but I've heard from a few people that cold turkey is the best way to do it. Just stay away from people, places and situations that trigger the need for a cigarette. I think the fact that I no longer drink either also helps a lot, so you might want to consider giving that up as well, at least in the beginning! Good luck!!!

I quit cold turkey...dont ask my why I did it...all I know is that I went on vacation to Key West, came home and threw my cigs, lighter and ashtray away! I have not had a cigarette in over 6 years!!

I just quit cold turkey on June 26th. I am just fighting the urge to have a cigarette - as much as I am dying for one. I found not having them around and not making a big deal about my last one was helpful. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I quit cold turkey. I just stopped. I know its hard, but keep thinking about how important it is, it gets easier every day, I promise!!!

What really sux is that FH smokes & is very stubborn about quitting. When I first quit I was like, I won't be one of those annoying non-smokers who complain all the time, but now it really bothers me & he won't even try to quit. That is the worst
