For all that wrote to me about my dad
He is getting released today or tomorrow!
I am so uplifted right now, I can't explain it...
And my dad asks me last night, when are we starting the planning for the wedding! I was shocked since he is never involved in any party planning. So we talked for a while about that and the eparty is the first mission to accomplish.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS ALL OF YOU HAD FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
It is so nice to see how complete strangers (although I feel like I know some of you in some way) are so generous in times of need for others. Thanks again.

Re: For all that wrote to me about my dad
My dad went back in to ICU on friday afternoon b/c the hemorrhage continued to the left side of his brain. His blood pressure shot up which we new why-all the stress and worry. But he is doing a lot better now. He was moved to recovery last night. The doctor told my sister that he shouldn't go back to work for at least 6 mos! And not to do any strenous activities for at least a yr!! When my father heard this, my sis said he started laughing and how could that be. He wants to go back to work in 3 mos. After much talking with him last night on my part and much convincing, he is okay with it. He always did say he hated commuting to the city EVERYDAY during the week for the last 25 yrs. So now he is seeing the positives of not working and began yapping on the things he could do to the house. Which is a no no by the DR's orders. So I need some help. I have to find my dad some hobbies!!
He is a newspaper reader but not a book reader. Is golf a non strenous sport? There is always walking but he says that is for sissys. Coming from someone who ran 3-5 miles, 4 days a week I understand but I had to convince him how good walking is...
He just got a new surround sound system and big screen tv so he is all into that at the moment. Which is going to drive us crazy b/c he raises the volume so loud that we feel the house shake sometimes!
He is going to drive us bonkers!! When he takes a week vacation and stays home we go nutty.
Anyone else's dad at home now and what does he do to entertain himself.
HELP ME!!

Re: For all that wrote to me about my dad
I'm sorry to hear that your Dad had a relapse, but glad to see he will be okay. Is he a patient man, maybe you can get him into models of some sorts, like cars, airplanes, etc. or if all else fails you can buy him Playstation
Best Wishes for his recovery

Re: For all that wrote to me about my dad
I'm glad to hear your father is on the road to recovery.I was going to suggest models too. I know there are model airplane clubs that some people really get into.
I'm not sure if they have it down there (I'm in Buffalo), but there's a kite flying club around here. You have to see some of these kites, they are really cool.
Maybe he can get into computers, if he's not already. Start learning some new programs or something like that...more of a winter thing.
My FH is into wood working, which takes up tons of time when you get into a project.
Golf is another good idea, but I would definitely talk to the doctor to make sure it's considered 'low impact'.
I can't think of any others right now, but I'll try to think of some more ideas.
It's sounds like you father is very lucky to have a family like yours, that even works to find him hobbies.
