I want to make monograms for my programs and invites and favors how did you ladies make them?

i know that a lot of girls have used PowerPoint to do it, layering text boxes and such? The ones i did ****** and i got lucky because another 07 bride helped me out! (You ROCK TARA!)
But i know she used a software program for monograms and design (don't have the name of it i'm sorry!!) Here's the lovely monogram she made me:

I used word, do a search on youtube.com for monograms, there's a girl who made a video its so easy to do after that, just write down the few steps she tells you.
