I am a past bride-- and new mommy-- ( got pregnant on the honeymoon) everyone was so helpful on these boards so I just wanted to tell you all about this center I attend that has helped me meet other moms! Its called the Mothers Center of Suffolk-- It's non-profit and has all kinds of support groups and playgroups, mommy and me and tons of other stuff. It was my saving grace after the birth of my son ! Now I have tons of new friends and so does my son ...They are having an open house Feb 5th in Seatauket. If you are interested let me know!! It really is wonderful...

Congrats on your new baby!! That place sounds great, does anyone know of any places like this in Queens or Western Nassau? I'd love to join something like this, especially since I'll be staying home for at least a year.

We are located in Suffolk -- but I am sure there are places in Nassau. The Mothers Center is a national organization -- they may have a chapter in Nassau. You can also try looking in the free long Island parenting magazines-- they always have listings. They give the magazines out at food stores and Babies r us ... Good Luck !
