for anyone doing a beach themed wedding!

a friend of mine got married last summer and her favors were the most ADORABLE DIY things I had ever seen... she bought little silver pails and chocolate molds in the shape of sea shells and a ton of brown sugar.

She put the brown sugar in the pail and then 2-3 pieces of the sea shell shaped chocolate (say that 10 times fast) on top and wrapped them in cellophane...

I thought it was the most clever thing!!

my bridesmaids did that for my bridal shower along with a shell cookie cutter. It was adorable!

Instead of brown sugar (for the sand), they used crushed almonds.

That's what I'm doing! Only in clear boxes.

Everyone told me that the brown sugar will get hard and not look like sand though. How did it work out for her?

We ate our chocolate's that day (lol) so they were fine... she made them fairly close to the wedding day so that they didn't melt, get stale, etc.

That is a really cute idea. I made something else once and for sand I used crushed up Nilla Wafers or Graham cracker crumbs

hmmm, graham crackers would look good too. Sometimes I have allergic reactions to cinnamon though, so maybe I'll stick with the sugar.
