For anyone investigating adoption

Thanks!!! I am looking into adoption ..I just attended a conference in Manhatten this weekend..but I didnt know there were local chapters in NJ..that link you posted is GREAT!!! Thanks so much!!! Can I ask is your friend adopting internationally or domestically? We are looking into domestic through DYFS and also internationally, still wieghing out our options. We would love a young sibling group!! Toddler age! Wish your friend luck for me!!!

She doesn't talk about it much - they are going through one more round of IVF and I think she's afraid she'll jinx it.

I know she is looking into Russia or China. She thinks it will be faster and cheaper than trying to adopt in the US.

I work with someone who adopted from China a year ago and she told me that it takes about 18 months now. It took her almost 3 years - first China closed their borders, then 9/11/01 and then SARS.

My SIL & BIL just adopted my gorgeous neice! She is an amazing baby from China! I think the whole process took about 16-18 months, they just got back in June and our neice has been nothing but a joy to have around!

The process was kinda long and in depth and pricy but it was sooo worth it in the end!
