For anyone who is staying at a Hotel their Night Of.....

Okay , so I booked a room at the Huntington Hilton for my night of (very pretty hotel btw for anyone looking! )

The problem is, when I booked online, I booked basically a regular room (executive level, which basically just means breakfast is included) The suite was waaaaaay too much for 1 night.

Once I told my family this they all said the SAME thing;......that I should call the Hilton and let them know its my wedding night, b/c sometimes they upgrade you or offer a bottle of wine for the room, etc....

I originally booked online through their website, so I feel stupid now just calling and saying 'hey its my wedding that night!'

What do you guys think? Did you mention it when you booked???

Def call and tell them! I did get a suite and the sales person said she will throw in champagne, chocolates and breakfast! I am spending so much money right now, I'll take anything for free!

I have family coming to NY for a whole week and staying in the hotel. They are getting a lot of business via our wedding. I called the lady I contracted our block with and asked her if there was anything she could do for us. Our suite was 325$ a night. She save us more than half off of our total because of all the rooms my family have booked. She is also giving us a banquet room for no charge for a small get together.

call them and be nice, I am sure they will be amicable and agreeable

Absolutely do it! We also blocked rooms at our hotel so they sort of knew, but I still had to awkwardly say to the woman on the phone when I called to reserve our suite, oh by the way, I'm the bride....hehe....

it's just like how you tell people on your HM that you're newlyweds---milk it!! especially if you get something free out of it, all it will cost you is one potentially awkward conversation

What if I call them to tell them Im gonna be a late check in and just 'happened' to mention its b/c we are getting back from your wedding reception late

That is EXACTLY what I would do. I was sitting here thinking of a reason you would need to call, and you've got it!
