1st and foremost YEAH FOR BARB ON HER 3.5lbs!!!!!!
Question for girls on ww diet
Did you join ww or are you doing it on your own (not join)? I want to do it, to maintain (I am at the weight I want, but with it being around the holidays, I need to stay here) and I want my dad to join b/c we had a little scare with him last weekend (he's ok) but I know we both won't go to meetings and I think WW is a good life style change, esp for my dad (I wanna keep him healthy).

I joined in April 08 going to meetings, now I'm a lifetime member (maintenance) and also work for them. I find that maintenance is harder than when I was trying to lose the weight, its a harder balance. I still try to fit a meeting in when I can or I just listen when I work a meeting.

Re: For Barb or Lsorrent: WW question!!
I'm a member since January 2008. I don't think I could have ever lost weight without officially joining weight watchers. Knowing that I was going each Sunday to get weighed in helped to hold myself accountable for my actions during the week. I also found the meetings to be a huge motivation tool. I got some great ideas and alot of support.

Are the meetings optional? What if we joined online? Are there meetings too?

My mom bought the books and the points calculator and did it all on her own...she had a day each week that she weighed herself and just did it that way.
She's lost almost 50lbs!!!!

The monthly pass allows you to have the e-tools and go to meetings. I think its $40 a month. IMO, its worth the money.
However, (and you'd have to ask Laura)- I don't know if they let you join just to maintain. Maybe they do? they probably want your $$$.
But anyway, it could become a health risk if you're close to your minimum and start losing weight. over the summer the lady who weighed me said if i kept losing i might not be able to get weighed in anymore b/c i was almost at the min. for my weight.

I'm here I'm here!
I joined in April 2006. There's no way I would've done it without the meetings. In fact, I tried to do it without the meetings, and it didn't work for me.
There are three options for WW: 1. Meetings alone 2. Online alone 3. Meetings plus e-tools (Monthly pass)
However, you cannot join meetings just to maintain your weight. In order to attend meetings, you must have AT LEAST 5 pounds to lose without going below the minimum weight range for your height.
With WW online though, they have no way to determine whether or not you really need to lose any weight.
