Have you ladies seen this. It comes on Saturdays at 10pm.
The premise is that the bride and groom have no say in what goes on on their wedding day. They allow their friends and families to plann everything. The bride cannot even see her dress until the day of.
The clincher is that they have a budget of $5000.
On this week's episode- the bride wore a bright pink gown. The things that really turned me off was that they could not afford to rent china so they had all of their relatives and friends lend them theirs. Also, the wedding planner wanted the family to cook the food.
It turned out ok, I guess, but I would not participate in such an experiment.

I wouldn't want anyone to plan our day. I'm surprised people go for that.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
that show is awful. The 'team' makes awful decisions 9 out of 10 times, even when they are trying to do the right thing. $5K is insane. I love when they budget like $10 per person for food and drinks.

It seems like such a ridicoulously low budget. But if I am home i will definitly watch it again.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
They did an amazing job from what I saw! Im sure they edit out all the crappy stuff...but that location for $700 was such a bargain.
Did anyone catch where they bought those BM dresses???? I loved them and want one of my own!

Stef, the location was nice.
Did you see the whole show?
Some of the ways they wanted them to cut corners?? Unbelievable.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
FH and I YES both of us were watching it this weekend. You know what, no one can say you CAN't do a wedding for $5,000 b/c it can be done. Although the couple that had dyed their hair a red color, that bridal planner needed a smack! She was UNDER by $500+ and couldn't spare plates???

OMG, I cannot get over the having to borrow silverware from your relatives.
I do think the prices were a little shady.
$250 for a photographer- I cannot believe that

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
I saw the whole show.
For $5K, I didnt see how they could NOT cut a lot of corners. I think they did pretty well considering $5K does not get very far. The coordinator did a great job on finding cheap alternatives that did not look so cheap to me (the dresses, the flowers, the table clothes, etc..)
Im surprised everyone didnt like it...i thought it was really cool.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
I can not unsderstand how the venue was only $700 and they did not have $$$$ for catered food???
I have enjoyed watching this show but I can not understand how a bride doesnt express to her family/friends on exactly what kind of dress she wants! I mean you know that you are going to be on the show...TELL THEM before hand!! LOL

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
I think the castle was $1K?? Didn't this couple have catered food? I know someone from a family did the wedding cake. Both venues were amazing. The other couple did have catered food. They had the Mexican food the couple liked.

Lisa Rose, I agree with you.
Honestly, her family should have fought for that white dress.
Even her DH admitted he was taken aback whenhe saw her.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
The food was catered after the family put their foot down and said they would NOT cook.
I know I am being repetitive but borrowing china from your relatives and friends- I cannot get over that.

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
Kysha I know they put their foot down to get the food catered. But the bridal planner was in serious need of a screaming! She never revealed where the money was going. How could you forbid catered food and not say where the $5K was being dispersed?? If I was on that 'team' I would have told her off!

Re: For Better or Worse on TLC
I didn't see the Pink show- but I would NOT be happy if my friend's put me in a pink wedding dress. That is for the prom. But they do find amazing locations. One show that I saw had a beautiful castle location for $1k!
