For brides not doing inner envelopes..

For brides not doing inner envelopes..

How did you address your outer envelopes? I am not using an inner envelope and I am stuck on how to address the outer envelopes for families and for single people with guests. Did you put for example Mr. John Doe and Guest on the outer envelope? What about families that are being invited with kids? I did not plan to send each child their own invitation. Did you write their names as well on the outer envelope?

Thanks!

Are we supposed to address the inner envelopes too? There are so many little details that needs to be done.

so if there is a guest you put it on the outer envelope?
You don't write the kids last names? Just the first?
what if it is just one kid?

Mr. & Mrs. John Smith
Jane

But if you say 'Mr & Mrs. Family' they wont take it as meaning thheir whole family husband, wife, kids, etc...Thats what Im scared of, what about 'Mr.John Doe & Wife'?

Re: For brides not doing inner envelopes..

I am putting everyone's name on the envelope. that's how i've gotten invitations in the past when I was invited with my parents.

Mr. & Mrs. John Smith
Mr. Joe Smith
Ms. Jane Smith

or

Mr. John Smith and Guest

and i have a few families that have 3 kids invited with them!!!

I am doing caligraphy if you do 3 or 4 lines its going to take up the whole envelope

First off just my opinion but I DON'T think you should write on any envelope and Guest unless you absolutely have to. I would find out the names of the people they are bringing with the last name included.

I did no inner envelope and I addressed First names on the outer envelope (Ladies first) MISS, MS & MRS.

I didn't have children so I can't help you there. sorry

I agree 100%. I did inner envelopes and still found out all the guests names so I could write their names on the inner instead of & Guest.

I hated getting & Guest on invites when DH and I were dating. All they had to was pick up the phone and call him and ask my name or shoot him an email if they really didn't know it.

Very true. MY FSIL had a situation where her cousin wrote her name and guest...and FSIL was ENGAGED!! She was pretty ticked!

Just make sure you get the correct name..

For my cousins wedding my invite was addressed to Miss Jessica Lastname and Jason...

My Fh name is Jashua. We had been together for 4 years at that time, so we had a good laugh about it.. But even when we got to the wedding, guess what his seating card said.... Thats right.. JASON.. lol i kept it..
