For brides whose weddings have passed...Invite Question

Hi ladies,

I know this question has been asked before but I'd like to hear the end results from those of you who had your weddings already...

a) How many people did you invite?

b) What was your minimum?

c) How many people accepted?

d) (If different from c) How many actually showed up?

Thanks so much for any and all help!!! As I look at my headcount I realize we have more people to invite than earlier anticipated. I'm wondering how many I can safely invite without going too far over my minimum.

I haven't had my wedding yet so I can't answer part d

but here are the rest....
a. We invited 191.
b. We guaranteed 130.
c. We have 133 adults and 16 kids coming (some are under 5 do those don't count)

a) I believe we invited about 190

b) Minimum 140

c) I think we got about 115 who replied yes. We then started asking others (some who I wanted to ask in the first place but couldn't because we were freaking out abou the 190 and having to pay to much for frikkin people we didn't even know, and then who said no anyway!)
Counting kids and vendors, we got the # to 135, I think.

d) I am not actually sure of the # who showed up. I know two people called the day before who said they couldn't come and then of at least one other who didn't show up.

We invited 274

We had 229 show up, so that is 45 nos and that was on a holiday weekend

our minimum was 175- but we upped it in april to 220 to get more extras

the actual that showed up was 229- but listen to this, we had 4 people cancel that day because they were sick, and then we had a couple who CRASHED our wedding and showed up and then 2 extra vendors.

so it all worked out nicely!

Hall minimum was 140
Invited 205
RSVP'd yes 184
Actually came 183 (Husbands wife had an emergency so he came alone)

We were actually thinking/hoping we would get more no's since our hall only held 180 on the main level - it ended up being a little 'intimate'!

The only people that RSVP'd no were all out of state people that we didn't think would come anyway...

I wouldn't count on the No's...learned my lesson to be stricter with the in-laws in the future! :)

a) 185 Invited
b) Min - 125, Max - 150 (in order to have the ceremony in the Library where I wanted it)
c) 122 people accepted (50% of our guests were OOT, so we expected alot of No's)
d) 119 guests actually showed up - There is no excuse for one. The other 2 were DH's boss who claims he was sick and his 'date', the ONLY +1 on our guest list! Needless to say, we were PISSED!

I had a LOT of OOT guests, so mine isn't the norm:

Invited 186

Guaranteed 100

Had 109 at wedding

1 cancellation because they were sick. But we had 1 person ask if she could come, since at the time of her RSVP she didn't think she was well enough to come. It turned out she was well enough to come, so she did and it all worked out.

Invited, 127 adults, 11 kids

Min: 100 adults

How many people accepted: 107

How many actually showed up: 105 adults, 7 kids

I would say if you're inviting alot of close friends and families only, expect 80% + to show up. If not, expect 50-75% depending on the amount of OOT guests and how far is the wedding and if the date is convenient. ;)
