For brides with petite Moms - where did your mom find her gown?
My mom isn't sure where to start - she's 5 feet tall and she looks younger than her age (51). Can you tell me where your mothers had great experiences with finding their gowns?

My mom hasn't started looking yet, but she's petite too. Only, she looks like a little old lady even though she's barely 60. She doesn't want to wear a gown to the floor. Instead, she wants something mid-calf. Is your mom looking for something similar to that?

I think she wants it to be floor length (b/c it'll be winter) - nothing too poufy. While she is a very conservative dresser, I know that the typical MOB gown is not what she's looking for.

My mom is conservative too. I couldn't imagine her in spaghetti straps or anything showing any skin. Sorry, I can't help you with stores since my mom hasn't gone yet. Just wanted to see what other moms are doing for their dress.

Try Totally You in Wantagh.
My aunt got her dress there & my mom got a dress there for another wedding. I am blanking right now on the name of the place my mom got her dress--in Lynnbrook. Don't worry about her being petite , it is like a BM dres, they all come long & they alter it. ( My mom is about 5'1')

My mom is petite and only 49 years old. 48 when I got married!
She got her dress at Flowerama in Elmont. Why not try a BM dress?

my mom is 5 ft and a size 5 or so. she got her dress at macys. its sleeveless with a light jacket. i hope you can see this pic.

My mom is very petite about 5'1 & got her dress at Totally You in Wantagh for my brother's wedding in 2003...She is very conservative but wanted something that wasn't a 'typical' mother of the groom dress!

My mom's gown was made by Mon Cheri and it came in petite I believe.
She is 5'1 and thin. She actually fit into the size 6 sample perfectly so they ordered her that size and all she needed was a hem.

My mom has a beautiful gown from the petite section at Lord & Taylor and they do alterations!

my mom is 5' 1' and does not want the typical mob dress. We went to Saks 5th ave in the city and she found a great dress in their evening dress section that I think she is going to go with.

I am pretty sure it is the Wantagh/Bellmore? border? I didn't go there myself. Does anyone know the name of the name of the store in Lynbrook/ It is driving me crazy.
Anyway, here is my mom's dress-I think it was Montage.: Can you see her in the background?

Yes! Thank you. My MIL saw her dress there , but got it closer to her in Westchester. My mom & grandma got their dreses in Sugar Plum.

My mom got her dress at David's Bridal, and she too is 5 foot and looks younger than she is.
MIL got her dress at Totally You, and we also shopped at Sugarplum. I felt both places were overpriced, but she wanted to spend the money so I wasn't going to stop her.
