? for BTDT BF Mom's

Damien has started cereal and is nursing less often than he used to. I feel a little depressed about this Is this normal do you gals feel the same way? Also how long before my boobs get used to it? They are getting engorged like when I first started nursing.

Stacey, I only BF Ryan for 8 weeks but I remember being a little down when the nursings became less and less. I think that is a normal reaction. Also, the engorgement I had when I was weaning was a nightmare since I didn't want to pump - I wanted to stop my supply. Ice packs and frozen peas helped. My SIL mentioned cabbage leaves but I tried them and they didn't help either...I'm sure in a few days your boobs will realize the demand is going down and your supply will probably lessen.

I had to quit cold turkey after 4 weeks, so I'm no help. However, I was very emotionally upset by the loss of my milk supply and the 'loss' of the BF experience so soon.

If it were me, I would definitely still pump even though Damien is not nursing as often. (JMO.) You can certainly freeze your milk for times when you're not home, AND you can use some of it now to make his cereal. I think it's soon to lose your supply, IMO --> but of course, that is your decision. Good luck!

I have been pumping for his cereal. I want to nurse him till he is a year old so I definitely want to keep my supply up. Thanks gals

I forgot that the depression you are feeling is 100% normal... well if it isnt Im not normal either. Ive been doing this for so long I cant imagine how its going to be when I stop.

BTW - thanks about the pics it was fun... more fun for me i think but thats ok. AND about the doggie... never realized how much I would miss him.
