Be happy. Its freezing tonight and i dont wanna turn up the heat bc im afraid of running out of oil before my next delivery. So im shivering in my bed.

That is how we are in our apt. since we are on electric (read: incredibly expensive) heat.

Im happy im at home because my mom keeps the heat up woot to gas heat but if I was at Dave's house there would be no heat on id be in 800 layers since FFIL doesnt like to spend money to heat the house

If you haven't done it for yourself already, get a heated blanket! FH and I had a big drafty house and we refused to put the heat on too! He puts it on for us at night to heat up the bed, its awesome :) We still use it in our apartment, even though heat is included...lol

This is one of my worries in thinking about taking over my parents house if they move. Their house is a huge colonial and costs a fortune to heat im sure. :(
But its the kind of house i wouldnt be able to buy so easily so i really want it.

what about a space heater Am??!! we're in the downstairs of my parent's house and our room is the converted garage so it's FREEEEEEEEZING! this little heater is the best thing ever I love that it has the temeprature control because we sleep with it on at night which probably isn't good but it's so COLD!!!

i rent and i dont want to turn the heat up!! (bc I have to PAY for ALLLL of utilities! ) including oil and it suuuuuucks. thats why I stay w FH a lot in the winter. (he can afford the heat!)

we ahve gas heat amy - but FH hates putting it up - becase we own the hosue and pay the gas bill haha its at 62 durign the day then goes up to 65 around 4pm till around 11... people thinks we are crazy for keeping it that low haha gas is expensive! but at least its constand and we dont have to refill the tank etc.... do you have a contract with an oil company?

FMIL is ridiculous w/ not turning the heat on! It's always FREEZING in FH's house, so I barely go there anymore! Idk what's wrong with that woman!!!

I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't turn the heat on till Nov. 1st--made it =)
I feel lucky though--I bought a new oil burner when I bought my house (had to) and it's super efficient, and my hosue is literally the size of a closet so I only need an oil delivery once a year. I still am stingy with the heat, but I don't mind it a few degrees cooler (and neither does FH)

wow..once a year? damn...my house is small too and i have an ancient furnace i'm replacing. FH's uncle is in the heating and cooling business so we should get a great deal. its just annoying to wait.
