For girls who had ceremony and reception at same place....

For girls who had ceremony and reception at same place....

We're having our ceremony at Giorgios (outside hopefully) and the reception immediately following, how do you end the ceremony? My mother thinks that everyone should still throw rice or rose petals or something as we walk back inside or something, I'm not sure -Any ideas?

When we walked back down the aisle, everyone threw rose petasl at us, and we went into the bridal suite, and the guests went right into the cocktail hour.

Our friends came back into the church and 'dismissed' each pew so they were able to greet everyone! The parents and BP were outside....

We are just walking up the aisle and back into the ballroom, with everyone blowing bubbles at us...then it goes right into the cocktail hour.

We handed out bubbles at the beginning of the ceremony and the guest blew them as we walked down the aisle at the end of the ceremony. It was really beautiful! Ours was outdoors, but I think you could use bubbles also if you had to have it indoors.
Also just a bit of advice, I wouldnt do a receiving line, because that will take time out of your cocktail hour. If you are going to your cocktail hour, you'll be able to say hello to a lot of the guest at that time.

We are having our jr. ushers hand out cones filled with roses for the guests to throw as we walk out and into our bridal suite. We'll probably skip the receiving line and mingle with all out guests during the cocktail hour.
