I have mine tonight. Just wondering what they talk about. I mean its two hours tonight, and EIGHT hours tomorrow. What in the world could possibly take so long!~~~ Can you tell I DONT want to go
we actually loved it....we had a counselor come in and pretty much just spoke about communication and the things that are needed to have a healty relationship. it was very helpful for us and opened our eyes to a lot of things that seem so unimportant yet can eventually make or break a marriage. It isnt like what it was years ago...it was actaully a great experience for us!

Re: For girls who have already done Pre Cana??!!
we talked a lot about if we want to have children, how we make spirituality a part of our lives/marriage, communication, stuff like that
i found it to be very helpful! it makes you and FH talk about important topics and gets you all on the same page
good luck and have fun!

Re: For girls who have already done Pre Cana??!!
FH and I just completed Pre Cana last weekend. I was dreading it, two full days of this, ugh! Well, I was pleasantly surprised, we had fun, believe it or not. They had a few married couples from our church be the 'facilitators', each married couple had a discussion topic that they presented and after each discussion topic we broke out into smaller groups and talked about the topic and stuff like that. No role playing or anything corny like I had assumed there would be. The discussions centered around Communication, Spirituality, Finances, Children and Family of Origin. Don't worry, it won't be bad

Re: For girls who have already done Pre Cana??!!
We did our in October and really loved it. we had great teachers and they questions weren't embarrasing...they spoke alot about communicating, financial issue etc.
It was great fh and I have been together for almost 9 years we throught we knew everything about each other - but we did learn some things and the lines of communication between us have changed I don't know how to explain how but their is def. much more of a mutual respect for each other.
Go in with an open mind it's not embarrashing, we really enjoyed it. GL

I def agree.....they will bring up topics to get you 2 to talk. It concentrates alot of communicationg. FH and I liked it actually. It got us to talk and we understood alot where the other was coming when it came to spirtuality and how to raise our children. They even talked about what would happen if we couldnt have kids...what would be do then. FH and I never talked abotu that so I liked that it was something we could discuss

Re: For girls who have already done Pre Cana??!!
tonight you just do a mass, and went i went it was only an hour although they said it would be 2 hours
the 8 hour day wasnt bad, we were dreading it at first bc of how long it is but was pleasantly surprised. First of all its not 8 full hours. You get 1 hour for lunch and they provide the lunch, plus you get a few 10 min breaks. We had a host couple and they were amazing, loved them. We also did little quizzes and stuff. FOr example we were given a book, and had to do these type of quizzes where we see how well we know eachother, but you dont discuss it with everybody. You answer it and then exchange your sheet with your SO and go over the answers together to see how well you know eachother, we did about 2 or 3 of these. Then there was another sheet of paper we were given, we were asked questions and how we would answer and had to put it on the sheet of paper without showing eachother and then exchange our answers with our SO.
as far as topics, they spoke about quite a few things. About IL's and how not to let others get involved with your relationship and they gave us examples of how it happened to them and what they went through and their experiences with it. Communication and how to keep the love alive. ALso pet peeves, what annoys you about your SO lol, and then to see how you have to let the small things go and choose your battles. The couple spoke to us about how they met and talked about personal things they went through and how they got through it. They talk about sex too and how to keep it fresh and all that. Talked about children, and just all aspects of a marriage and problems that might come up.

I have to do mine soon... but for the most part I hear people have fun. So maybe you will have a good time too. My FH father is a Deacon and he does it. The ONLY question I know about.... is .... do you think your FH has homeosexual tendencies! Ha ha ha ha ha! I love that one and just thought I'd share!
