For girls who have had their shower (and peeked at their registries!)

I am registered at Fortunoff and BBB. However, being that I'm a peeker - I've noticed that most of the stuff that's been bought has been purchased from BBB and almost nothing from Fortunoff. Now I don't know if my shower is close or not - but I'm getting worried because all of the stuff I really need is on my Fortunoff registry and almost none of it has been purchased!! I had only kitchen gadgets and bedding at BBB. Any advice or thoughts?

I made my BBB registry smaller and it is pretty much all bought out... that stuff went first because i think people want to use the coupons. I'm sure people will go to fortunoffs once the bbb stuff is gone.. If you want you should go on your registry and remove things and maybe put them on your tfortunoffs registry 'forcing' them to go there.

don't worry.. you probably will get giftcards too!

A lot of people wait for the last minute to buy things (annoying but true), also a lot of times people forget to say what they are buying is from a registry. I am sure your things will get purchased. Just give it some time.

I'm also a frustrated peeker

We have 3 registries..... bloomies (with all the important china), cooking.com (with selfish pipedream kitchen toys), and cb2.com (some furniture. So far, both cooking.com and cb2.com are completely purchased. Only 5 items were purchased off of the bloomies registry! So far, only one person bought any china! the china is what we need most!!!!

I wonder when most people buy gifts... I also wonder how many people wing it and get stuff not on the registry...

getting scared that I'll never be able to host thanksgiving!

I had three regestires: Crate and Barrel, BBB and Target. My Crate and Barrel Registry was almost finished, I got about 7 or 8 items from BBB and three items from Target. There was a lot of stuff that I really needed, but didn't get (a hamper, new garbage can, food processor) and there was stuff I needed and got and then totally unnecessary stuff that I shouldn't have registered for, but is sooo nice that I am glad I did. You may have to go ahead and buy some of the stuff you really need by yourself, but then again people do tend to get last minute items as well.

This happened to me and I went nuts! I actually transfered some of my stuff from Fortunoff to BBB. I think many people prefer BBB because there are more locations and the coupons are also a bonus

I had my shower a week ago and I peeked the whooooole time beforehand. I noticed that my Macys got bought out real fast but even a week before my shower my BBB still had a ton of stuff on it. Turns out most people waited til a few days before to buy stuff So, I ended up getting almost everything off both registries, but people waited til the very last minute -- kept me on my toes

I only had 2 things bought from my Fortunoff Registry. But my BBB registry was emptied. I ended up getting money and used that to buy what I needed from Fortunoff. As I saw my BBB getting filled I added some things this way you can return them and get cash back if they are on your registry. This also helped.

SAME thins happpend to me. I registered at BBB and Macys and only two things were bought off Macys. MY BBB registry was completely wiped. And I already had my shower. But look on the plus side..... at BBB you can return for cash, so you could always go buy what you really wanted at Fortunoff.

I dont think its necessarily the less expensive but for some 'standard' kitchen wedding items BBB has better prices even before coupons. Compare any gadet or appliance and they are always less at BBB and then you get the coupon. Its the same item. I did notice that sometimes Macys would put their stuff on 'sale' and it would still be like $10-$20 more than BBB.

I registered for anything that would be the same item for less vs Macys and BBB at BBB. But i did want really plush towels and some nicer glass type stuff and my china from Macys.

Also, BBB gives you cash back. I had gone over board and registered for stuff that ended up I wont be using in the forseeabe future and I was able to return for Cash. Macy's gives you store credit.

I too agree that stuff will come off your registry last minute, most liekly night before.

A friend of mine had asked everyone to wait until last minute to buy things off the registery becasue the shower was a surprise for her sister. She also had people buy things off the registry but not tell the store they had bought it. Crazy right? All in the name of keeping the shower top secret.
A few things had to be returned because they were duplicate but it really worked out and she was TOTALLY surprised the day of her shower.
That would drive me MADLY INSANE!

I think its the locations, there are more BBB than Fortunoffs and BBB gives out those coupons so people will buy from BBB first.

I registered at both Fortunoff and BBB and noticed that stuff from BBB is going faster. I think part of that is because there are more locations and you can use the coupons. I figured, if worse comes to worse, I can transfer some stuff from Fortunoff to BBB....
