Hey girls,
Sorry this is a little long....I contacted Nicole via email about 2 weeks ago. I asked a few questions as to prices, when I should do my trial, who she could recommend for a makeup artist, etc. Today she replied back to me in an extremely brief sentence.
Last Friday I called her and left her a detailed message asking her to please get back to me, and I have not heard from her yet.
As I am sure you can understand, I have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
Being that I have heard such wonderful things from all of you, I am wondering what I should do. I understand she is probably extremely busy, but have any of you had this exoperience when trying to contact her? Do you think I should call and leave another message? Any advice would be appreciated!

I emailed her a couple of weeks ago and just got her email tonight, she replied with nothing other than a link to her prices. But I don't know if that would necessarily cause me not to use her.

when i emailed her it took about a week to hear back... She attached all of her policies, pricing, etc I read through all of it and still didnt see a final price.. So i emailed again and she answered...briefly!

I called for a possible trial before the end of the summer b/c I want to see how my hair will hold up in humidity and she basically said it's way to early for me to have a trial..i dunno what I'm going to do..i didn't expect being denied....

yeah that is odd. why does she care if you want the trial now or three months before? either way she is being paid!

she actually e-maile me saying she's 'not booking for after Sept 09 yet'......????? but I'm looking at your dates on this thread and most are after sept 09

I know she is really good. My Neice and her Grandmother get their hair done by her all the time. She is really busy and is doing a wedding practically every weekend. I would just wait and then send another email.

I'm set up with my trial in August with Marie Katz. She said by booking a trial it will hold my wedding date. She was the one that recommended me to do it towards the end of the summer since my color tone will be the same for my wedding (most likely tanning teh month before the wedding in Sept to keep teh color for pictures)
If she is someone you really want to use I would keep at her to make the appointment for a trial but I wouldnt want to hunt her down like that on a regular basis. ITs a little weird to not get back to potential clients like that

she looks like she does a great job, obvs. why we all called her haha...I just hate briefness..expecially when your spending a lot of money for just one day...it happened to me this past wed. at a brial showcase with limos...we were like totally blown off (by a VERY highly regarded company) why would I give you $1600??? Thats prob. why I'm being bitter about vendors lately...lol

yep..thats exaclty why i'm calling hair and makeup now...makeup wise, for the skin shade and hair for the weather

If she denied you then she will def. deny me..... my wedding is after yours!! I just figured I should go now for 2 reasons;
1. I know she is popular and i am afraid she will get booked for my date
2 i am a teacher and i am off of work now. plus i live in staten island so the summer is a great time for me to take a trip out to long island.
oh goodness, now i think i should just wait to call!

I'm a teacher too...it's so much easier to do this stuff now when we're off....she did say that she'd keep my name : 'I am not contracting for Summer 09 just yet. I will save your info but please contact me again in September.'
But I think I want to do what's best for ME and most convenient for ME and book a trial with someone this summer so I'll have a week day to see how long the makeup lasts etc...the school year will be to difficult to choose a day we are off on ya know...

I FMed you this but yesterday I must have caught her when she was near the computer and we emailed back and forth.....she is off until Sept and has 3 kids so she is super busy. And I am getting married 10/31 and she said that I can call her in Sept when she gets back to set up a trial and I am almost at the END of 09.....and she never mentioned anything about not booking or it was too soon to do a trial.
She actually read my first email wrong and thought i was getting married this halloween and this halloween is a Friday and she didnt want to miss her youngest kids halloween parade and she really tried to accomodate me....she kept emailing me times...like if the parade starts X I can be to you by X and she was really trying to work things out....when I realized that she had the wrong year she was very excited that she was wide open.
I would just wait until Sept. Im a teacher too and wanted to get this out of the way but you will still be tan in Sept and unfortunately it is still so humid then too....YUCK!

I actually had my consultation with nicole awhile back. She's super busy b/c it's wedding season and she also has her regular salon of clients so she is a busy woman..she also has 3 kids! Just tell her you'd like to set up a consultation and you can meet with her. She doesn't do your hair, you just talk about what you have in mind, about your dress, how she works with you the day of. She does have makeup reccomendations as well. Like i told her how i wanted to look and she's like 'Ok i know so and so would be perfect for you'. I actually think she's a sweetheart and i can't wait to work with her. I'm not doing my trial until next year b/c I think it's pointless now b/c i don't know how my hair will be.

i emailed her, she was available for my date and she sent me some attachments - but none of her emails were very personable- then i found roseanna amador who was a little less expensive and i felt she was more friendly initially so i booked her instead, i never ended up going on a trial with nicole - but her hairstyles are all gorgeous! i just felt a little more comfortable booking with someone else...

I ended up booking with M I A from B r i d a l L o u n g e. She had amazing reviews. She got right back to me. I communicated with her on email. She was on gmail and I can see when she was on so it was great. Very personable and quick response. Her prices were ok. The best part is she doesnt have a minimum # of people she requires to come to you. Since none of my girls were getting makeup done this worked out well. I never even did a trial since I am out of town but I loved everyones pics and reviews. And she was one of the few vendors who was personable and responded quickly.
