The BM will be holding the rings.

I didn't have a bridal party. We gave our rings to our mothers. My mom had DH's ring and his mom had my ring. The priest called his mom up and she gave him the ring for me, and vice versa. It was the priest's idea!

Who held your rings at the altar?
My MOH stood next to me on the altar. She held my engagement ring because it did not fit on my right hand. After the ceremony, she handed the ring to me.
The BM stood next to my DH on the altar. He held the wedding rings and handed them to my DH at the appropriate time during the ceremony.

I love this idea. I was thinking of doing something like this because I don't have a brial party at all (no moh or bm). So it will either be our mothers or really close friends don't know yet.

We thought it was a great way to incorporate our moms into the ceremony. I didn't have a MOH or anything. Zero bridal party.

If mom feels weird about it. You can give that honor to a really close friend. That is my other idea cause I still feel bad that my best friend isn't a moh. I think she always envisioned being my moh and has said she would wear anything and do anything I wanted. So if you have someone really close that you want to incorporate you could ask them.

I was thinking maybe my FSIL because my really close friend moved out of the country and cant make it back here for the wedding.

I don't think it would look weird. Why does it matter who holds the rings? I find sometimes people are caught up in the whole 'wedding traditions thing' and think that anything that strays from this is odd... DEFINITELY NOT.... I think your mom giving you the rings is beautiful...and involves her in the ceremony. Try to talk her into it.. i think it would be great!

Who held your rings at the altar?
Am I missing something?
I thought that you have to have witnesses when you get married.
If I remember correctly, the officiant and the witnesses have to sign a form (marriage license form). Then the form is mailed somewhere and then you get your marriage certificate.

Anyone can be your witness so it doesnt matter if you dont have a bridal party, you can have your parents, cousins anyone.
