For Hispanic Brides: Will a Priest bless...

my engagement ring? My godmother mentioned it to my mom and she said that we should have my priest bless my ring at the engagement party. I know this is in the GO custom however, I never heard of it in the Catholic religion. But my godmother says its a Hispanic thing. Never heard of that either. Have any of you?

And if he won't do it at the party, honestly I prefer we don't have a ceremony at the party I prefer to do it at the church or have something else done, would my priest do this?

I had mine blessed by a Catholic priest. I never heard of it being a Hispanic tradition. I stopped by the church and asked them if they would do it and the priest said no problem...and it was as easy as that.

I'm sure they'll bless it for you if you wanted but i have never heard of it being a 'tradition'

Mine did and had a cermony and placed a pre wedding blessing on us.
