for jewish brides or interfaith couples

I picked up my ketubah yesterday from Zion Lion in New Hyde park and it came out wonderful!!!

It came in within two weeks and it was with calligraphy. The women who own the place are just wonderful to work with.

They have so many to chose from and all different types-orthodox, interfaith, conservative.

just wanted to pass the info on...

Misteyed--

just remember that next week is Passover so they will be closed for a week and If you decide to get a ketubah there keep that into consideration....

I actually called and asked them when they'd be closed, they said only Thursday and Friday. Hopefull we'll be able to order something on Sunday and have this off my head!!

Oh good better for you--- You will find one... I don't know what you want to spend but they reanged from 100 and up.

WE got the tree of life ketubah in silver. They will know which one it is since they told us it is the most popular one.

Good luck!!!!

I really don't want to spend 300 bucks on this....what do the ones in the $100 range look like?

I saw one that I loved, it was a wreath of flowers that said 'I am my beloveds, and my beloved is mine' around the inside of it...SO PRETTY! But it was like 180 bucks + calligraphy..which made it almost 275.

Hilland Ron - what is your wording?

We got ours (actually FPIL got it for us) somewhere in Florida. Its very non traditional - its a CELTIC Ketubah

Mistyeyed - I'm pretty sure ours was < $100

try this link

ketubah

I think this is ours

Misteyed,

I think I remember seeing something like that. But ours with calligraphy was about $260 but we had a coupon for 10% that my mother's friend had.
you might be able to do it for around 200 or so...

Dubliner-
We have a conservative ketubah with the lieberman clause. It is basically in hebrew and then on the bottom our names are in english.
That is the only type of wording my rabbi allowed

Re: for jewish brides or interfaith couples

I got one just like Dubliners...the Celtic Ketubah since my FH is Irish but I had to pay $180 from e-ketubah because my rabbi didn't like the wording of the interfaith ketubah from the ketubahs4less web site. Oh well. What's another $100 in the sceme of things

Misty,
I didn't forget about you and my promise to send the wording of our Ketubah. But when I went to pick it up I found a typo so it has to be fixed. Just one letter wrong - but I want it perfect all the same. I think your sounds like mine. It is a wreath with blue flowers and small birds (doves). IT came to around $300 with calligraphy.

That sounds pretty close..it's so pretty!

Re: for jewish brides or interfaith couples

I think our rabbi said our Ketubah could say whatever we liked. I really should double check with him - why do I always think of calling him on a Friday??

Sparkette! I went to the Zion Lion today and ordered a Ketubah! They were so amazing..and the text is absolutley beautiful...just what we both wanted.

Whew another thing off the list!

This is mine (on the right) although the picture does not do it justice. It has actual embossed copper with the seven blessings in hebrew on it.

Expensive but beautiful.
