Re: for marriage license...
I just made my appt. today. you need divorce papers if there are any, ORIGINAL birth certs and license or passport, and the $ can be check or money order, no cash (or at least that's what huntington town hall told me - may be different at other places).

We went to the Clerk's Office in Hempstead and they do take cash. We brought our license and original birth certificate. It's easy and quick!

Re: for marriage license...
In NYC you only need one from the list they give you. Drivers license and credit card is enough.
Even at 8am the office was full, but not too busy, we were done in 20 minutes.

Re: for marriage license...
I went yesterday to the brookhaven town hall in farmingville. I was there at about 10am and there were no other people there. I had my birth certificate, drivers licence and my FH had his divorce papers. We were in and out of there in 20 minutes tops!

Re: for marriage license...
does it have to be the ORIGINAL birth certificate or can it be an official reprint with the raised seal?
my original birth certificate was lost about 20 years ago so I had the city issue me a reprint. It has the raised seal and is certified. is that ok?
also.. i dont drive, is a state issued ID or a learner's permit ok?

that's exactly where we went yesterday too Mel, and we were in and out in about 20 minutes too. Also brought our license and passports and were good to go.

As long as it has the raised seal you are fine, but if you have a passport you don't need the birth certificate and yes any state issued photo id, whether it be a drivers license or Non drivers Id is accepted.
